Whistling is also called feedback. It often happens when amplified sound leaks out and gets picked up again by the microphone.
What to do
- Reinsert the hearing aid carefully.
- Lower the volume if needed.
- Inspect and replace the eartip if it is damaged or clogged.
- Move objects and your hand away from the hearing aid.
- If you think earwax is the problem, speak with a healthcare professional.
- The hearing aid is not inserted correctly
- The volume is too loud
- The eartips are broken or clogged
- Your hand or another object is too close to the hearing aid
- There may be excessive earwax in the ear
