Whistling is also called feedback. It often happens when amplified sound leaks out and gets picked up again by the microphone.

What to do

  1. Reinsert the hearing aid carefully.
  2. Lower the volume if needed.
  3. Inspect and replace the eartip if it is damaged or clogged.
  4. Move objects and your hand away from the hearing aid.
  5. If you think earwax is the problem, speak with a healthcare professional.
  • The hearing aid is not inserted correctly
  • The volume is too loud
  • The eartips are broken or clogged
  • Your hand or another object is too close to the hearing aid
  • There may be excessive earwax in the ear
