Before using your Solid hearing aids, please review this important safety information.
Who should use this device
This OTC hearing aid is intended for adults 18 and older. If you're under 18, please see a doctor, preferably an ear-nose-throat specialist (ENT) — your needs require specialized care.
When to see a doctor first
Before using an OTC hearing aid, see a doctor (preferably an ENT) if you have any of the following:
- a birth defect or unusual shape of the ear
- an ear injury or deformity from an accident
- blood, pus, or fluid coming out of your ear in the past 6 months
- ear pain or discomfort
- a lot of earwax, or something that feels stuck in your ear
- dizziness or a spinning/swaying sensation (vertigo)
- sudden hearing changes in the past 6 months, or hearing that gets worse then better again
- hearing loss in only one ear, or a big difference between your ears
- ringing or buzzing in one ear only
Stop and remove the device if:
- Inserting it causes pain or discomfort. Try again carefully — if pain continues, contact us or a hearing healthcare professional. You can also report this to the FDA as an adverse event.
- You notice any unusual skin reaction (itching, swelling, or rash) — stop use and consult a medical specialist.
Do not use if any of the following apply to you: a birth defect or deformity of the ear canal; unstable or fluctuating deafness; persistent headaches, dizziness, earaches, or tinnitus not suitable for adaptation; sudden hearing loss within the past 3 months or rapidly progressive deafness; unilateral hearing loss or other acute ear disease; discharge or frequent ear infections; central or non-organic deafness; active or chronic ear infection; allergy to the device's materials.
