Whistling or feedback usually means amplified sound is leaking back to the microphone. This is often caused by fit, wax, or volume that is set too high.
- Remove the hearing aid and reinsert it so it sits more securely.
- Try a different ear-tip size if the current tip feels loose.
- Clean the ear tip, tubing, and sound outlet to remove wax or debris.
- Lower the volume slightly and test the sound again.
- Check for damage to the ear tip, tubing, or receiver and replace worn parts if needed.
A small amount of whistling while inserting the hearing aid can be normal. Ongoing whistling while you are wearing it usually means the fit needs attention.
