Great question — it comes down to physics. Invisible-in-canal (IIC) hearing aids like Core One are prized for being discreet, but that small size leaves very little room for extra components.
The smallest Bluetooth module currently available measures:
- 3.5mm x 3.5mm x 1.0mm
- Requires ~12mm² mounting footprint
The Core One measures:
- 13.7mm x 6.8mm
There's simply no room left over in that footprint, especially once you account for the extra power draw a Bluetooth module would need. Core One is designed to pack the most performance and features possible into that small form factor.
What about Core One Pro?
Core One Pro is controlled through its charging case, plus a double-tap to switch programs. Adding Bluetooth to a device this small is complex, and there's no timeline for app control on this model.
