Why is my Torch hearing aid whistling?

Why Torch may whistle

Whistling or feedback usually means amplified sound is escaping and being picked up again by the microphone.

Common causes include:

  • the hearing aid is not inserted correctly
  • the eartip is damaged, clogged, or the wrong size
  • your hand or another object is too close to the hearing aid
  • your ear may be full of wax
  • the volume may be too high

Reinsert the device, try another eartip size, reduce the volume, and clean the hearing aid. If you think earwax may be the problem, speak with a physician.
