Proper storage and care keeps your Nexus working reliably and extends its life.
Storage
- Store the hearing aid in its dedicated case, or in a clean, dry location when not in use.
- Open the battery door when storing to prevent battery drain and allow moisture to escape.
- Keep the device away from extreme heat, cold, and humidity. The safe storage temperature range is −10°C to +55°C (14°F to 131°F), with relative humidity between 10% and 90%.
- Do not store near strong electromagnetic sources such as microwaves, or in locations with high vibration or shock.
Moisture and water
- Do not swim, shower, or use a sauna while wearing the hearing aid.
- Never rinse or submerge the hearing aid in water — even small water drops can block sound or damage internal components.
- Do not attempt to dry the hearing aid in an oven, microwave, or other heating equipment.
- If the hearing aid gets wet, open the battery door, remove the battery, and allow the device to air dry completely before using it again.
General handling
- Do not drop the hearing aid or knock it against hard surfaces.
- Do not use sharp tools to dislodge earwax from the device.
- Always remove the hearing aid before using hair care products.
- Replace eartips every 3 to 6 months or when they become stiff, brittle, or discolored.
