Solid is whistling or making feedback noise

Whistling or feedback from your Solid is usually caused by a poor ear tip seal or incorrect positioning — and is easy to fix.

Common causes and fixes

  • Ear tip is not fully inserted: Gently push the ear tip further into the ear canal until it feels snug. Make sure the ear tip is firmly attached to the hearing aid before inserting.
  • Wrong ear tip size: Try a smaller ear tip (S, M, or L) to get a better seal. An ear tip that is too large or too small can cause feedback.
  • Ear tip is loose or not attached properly: Remove the ear tip and push it back on firmly. Give it a gentle tug to confirm it is fully secured before wearing.
  • Holding something too close to the hearing aid: Move your hand, phone, or other object away from the hearing aid while wearing it.
  • Volume is too high: Reduce the volume by pushing the control button downward. High volumes combined with a poor fit can cause feedback.
  • Earwax buildup: Clean the ear tip and microphone area as described in the cleaning guide.
