Style produces feedback or whistling

Feedback (a whistling or squealing sound) usually means the ear tip is not sealing properly in your ear canal.

Steps to try

  1. Re-seat the hearing aid: Remove the hearing aid and reinsert it, making sure it sits snugly and securely in your ear.
  2. Try a different ear tip size: If the ear tip is too small it cannot form a proper seal. Try the next size up — your Style comes with S, M, and L ear tips.
  3. Reduce the volume: High volume levels can cause feedback. Short-press the button to lower the volume.
  4. Check that the ear tip is properly attached: Remove the ear tip and push it back onto the hearing aid firmly until it is secure. A loose ear tip can cause whistling.
  5. Move your hand away: Covering or cupping the hearing aid with your hand can cause feedback. Keep objects away from the microphone area.
