Whistling, also called feedback, usually means the hearing aid is not sealing well in the ear or something is interfering with the microphone or sound path.

  • The hearing aid may not be inserted correctly
  • The eartip may be the wrong size
  • The eartip may be broken or clogged
  • Your hand or another object may be too close to the hearing aid
  • Earwax may be blocking the ear canal

Try reinserting the hearing aid, switching eartip sizes, replacing damaged eartips, and cleaning the device. If you suspect heavy earwax buildup, contact a medical professional.
