How to change the wax guard on your Beacon

The wax guard protects your Beacon from earwax damage and should be replaced when sound becomes blocked or muffled.

What to know first

• The wax guard is a single-use component designed for disposal after use.
• Extra wax guards are not included — purchase them from your healthcare professional or authorized retailers.
• Use the removal tool that came with your hearing aids.

Steps to change the wax guard

1. Open the wax guard case as shown in the illustration.
2. Insert the removal hook end into the old wax guard. Hold the tool at a right angle and pull the wax guard straight out.
3. Place the hearing aid into the illustrated position on the wax guard case to align it with the new wax guard.
4. Press firmly to insert the new wax guard.
5. Throw away the used wax guard.
6. If the new wax guard cannot be locked into the hearing aid, replace it with another new wax guard.
