The wax guard protects your Beacon from earwax damage and should be replaced when sound becomes blocked or muffled.
What to know first
- The wax guard is a single-use component designed for disposal after use.
- Extra wax guards are not included — purchase them from your healthcare professional or authorized retailers.
- Use the removal tool that came with your hearing aids.
Steps to change the wax guard
- Open the wax guard case as shown in the illustration.
- Insert the removal hook end into the old wax guard. Hold the tool at a right angle and pull the wax guard straight out.
- Place the hearing aid into the illustrated position on the wax guard case to align it with the new wax guard.
- Press firmly to insert the new wax guard.
- Throw away the used wax guard.
- If the new wax guard cannot be locked into the hearing aid, replace it with another new wax guard.
