Feedback or Whistling with Fusion

If you're experiencing feedback or Whistling with your Fusion hearing aids, here are a couple of things to try:

Possible causes Solutions
Hearing aids not positioned correctly in the ear.

Feedback is typically caused by sound leakage from the speaker in your ear being picked up by the microphone outside. Ensure the hearing aids are positioned correctly in your ears and feel snug and secure.

Volume is set too high.

Having the volume set too high may cause sound leakage from the speaker to the microphone. Turn the volume down one level at a time till the feedback goes away. Additionally, ensure that you have a snug and secure fit when inserting the hearing aids in your ears.

Damaged or obstructed ear tips.

Damage to the ear tips may cause sound leakage from the speaker to the microphone. Inspect your ear tips for damage and, if damage exists, replace the ear tips.

Obstructed ear tips may also cause sound to reverberate back into the microphone. Inspect your ear tips for any obstruction. Remove and clean the device and ear tips with the included cleaning tool.

Objects in close proximity.

Objects in close proximity to the hearing aids (including your hands) may cause them to pick up sounds from the speaker. Ensure that nothing is blocking the microphone after properly placing the hearing aid in the ear.

Obstructions in the ear.

Obstructions in your ear may cause the sound to reflect off of these obstructions and back to the microphone. We suggest visiting your physician for assistance.
